“Baptism of Christ Icon” Archive Boxy Tee

Description

The WW9 “Baptism of Christ Icon” Archive Boxy Tee

The river. The dove. The voice from heaven.

This design shows a traditional icon of the Baptism of Christ, known in Eastern Orthodox Christianity as the Theophany. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke describe Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, as the Holy Spirit descends like a dove and a voice from heaven names him. The feast is celebrated on January 6, or January 19 in churches that follow the Julian calendar. The age, maker and origin of this particular icon are not known.

The front of the shirt carries the full icon as a rectangular image: Christ standing in the river, John the Baptist at the left, angels at the right, and a ray of light descending from above. It is printed in full color with DTG in the large Front (MAX) print area.

This unisex boxy tee is made from 100% combed cotton (280g/m²). The heavyweight fabric gives the shirt a substantial vintage feel, while the drop shoulders and loose, boxy cut give a relaxed fit. Reactive-dyed for long-lasting color.
