In the icons we carry, the men in the Jordan are painted brown.
On our Baptism piece the river runs green and shallow at Christ's feet, with John on one bank and angels on the other, and light breaking through the sky above. The Jordan flows from the Sea of Galilee down to the Dead Sea. In the icon, everyone standing at it is brown.
