Description
The WW9 “Prester John” Archive Boxy Tee
Legend. Kingdom. The priest-king of the East.
Prester John was a legendary Christian priest-king whom medieval Europeans believed ruled a rich and powerful kingdom beyond the Muslim world. The legend first placed his realm in Asia; from the fourteenth century onward, Europeans increasingly identified it with Ethiopia. This engraving portrays him under an Italian form of his name; its engraver and date are not identified here.
The front of the shirt carries the full engraving as a rectangular image: a bearded figure in a fur-trimmed hat and robe holding a scepter, with a coat of arms in the corner and his name in the caption below, printed in its original sepia tones with DTG.
The Canvas:
This unisex boxy tee is made from 100% combed cotton (280g/m²). The heavyweight fabric gives the shirt a substantial vintage feel, while the drop shoulders and loose, boxy cut give a relaxed fit. Reactive-dyed for long-lasting color.
