Egypt at the Center of the American State

Book I: The American Egypt · Chapter 5

Egypt isn’t only in the river towns. It sits at the center of the American state.

The pyramid on the money

The back of the Great Seal of the United States (1782) shows an unfinished 13-step pyramid with an eye above it and the motto Novus Ordo Seclorum, “a new order of the ages.” In 1935 it went onto the $1 bill under President Franklin Roosevelt and Agriculture Secretary Henry Wallace, both Freemasons. (Record)

The obelisk at the capital

The Washington Monument is an Egyptian obelisk. Its cornerstone was laid on July 4, 1848 in a Masonic ceremony led by Grand Master Benjamin B. French. (Record)

The lighthouse of the lodge

The George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia was paid for by the Masons. Its cornerstone was laid in 1923 and it was dedicated in 1932. The architect first sketched it as a “lighthouse of Freemasonry,” and it’s widely described as inspired by the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt. (Record)

Egyptian prisons and gates

In the 1800s America built Egyptian-style public buildings: New York’s “Tombs” jail (1838) and the Egyptian gate of New Haven’s Grove Street Cemetery (1845). (Record)

And the land’s own pyramid

The base of Monks Mound at Cahokia is bigger than the Great Pyramid of Giza’s. (Record)

The lens: America isn’t copying Egypt; it is the Egypt they hid. The symbols are a confession in stone, and under the Evidence Code an admission in stone still counts. (Pattern)
